Record a note on a lead when an appointment has been made
We've just deployed this. Please give it a try and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
@Mike Emery: Hi Mike - just tried this and it works fine. Very elegant solution. The only problem we still encounter is not being able to see what is in the Calendar. Despite the Calendar offering available dates and times (which is great) - its near impossible to use the Calendar with any degree of certainty (certainly in our user case) without seeing what is either side of the available/offered time. The main reason being that the meeting/appointment before or after could take longer than the prescribed time or in the case of someone who is travelling between two places to make a meeting/appointment, of course the Calendar won't take in to account travelling time or other delays. So in this case, we would have to refer to the actual real calendar to see the full calendar to make a judgement. I realise that everybody's user case will be completely different - but thought I'd share ours. I guess this issues is specifically relevant for any Field Based Selling/Teams.
@Mike Emery: Looking good Mike. Observation in booking time, like that greys out past time on day however these times remain greyed out on the following day(s) too. Ie Current day time 16:00hrs therefore shouldnt be able to book appointment before then, makes sense. Select a future date and you still can't book a slot for a time before current date time. i.e. current day 16:00hrs next day appointment can only be booked after 16:00hrs too.. trust that makes sense.
@Chris Edmeads and @Amy Milner: Sorry you're both seeing similar problems. We're not seeing what you see on our accounts or on other customer accounts. But we'll look into things here. In the meantime, it would be useful if you could check your Google Calendars careful to see if there's any explanation.
@Mike Emery: Thank you. I have checked both mine and Chris' calender and shared calender but even when there is nothing in the diary at all, it still won't let an appointment be booked anytime before 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm
@Amy Milner: Thanks. We've had a look at this end and have a theory. We'll get in contact by phone or email and see if we can get to the bottom of this.
@Mike Emery: That would be great thanks Mike
@Chris Jones: I can see the challenge here. We're working on some "appointment rules" next which will start by allowing you to define appointment buffers as well as minimum the notice period for an appointment. It won't give you everything you'd like straight away but we hope it'll be a step in the right direction and can grow from there.
@Mike Emery: wonderful. I think that will do the trick for the most part. “Appointment Types” with pre-set characteristics/buffers/fields/rules rather than free type appointment titles would be brilliant too. Even better if the appointment Type could be assigned to different group calendars automatically? Again if google maps address api could be used in the address box if you are not selecting the default lead address that would be very impressive? Thanks as always Mike.
Appointments need to be viewed in FLG
I am pleased to say that we're already working on this and it'll be live very soon.
@Mike Emery: Can't wait! That will save us doubling up on appointments and events as it is imperative we can see in that the action of an appointment has been taken. Thank you
Thought around this - Appointments - process wise, not sure of approach however to remove double entry maybe push event information into gmail calendar (or other) with tick box or something within set up. Love the development but keen to avoid double entry!! thanks
Thanks for your input, Chris. Can you clarify where you're concerned about duplicate entry? Is this the actual appointment in the external calendar where the system would send it and then someone would create manually? What would the tick box control?
@Amy Milner: I noticed you hadn't voted so just want to ensure that you know that this has been released. We hope it does what you want and if it doesn't please let us know!
@Mike Emery: thanks Mike! Will give it a try now - much appreciated
@Mike Emery: Fantastic thank you! The greying out of time slots for appointments is also a good feature - however for some reason its blocking out random days (such as May 9th) and also all times up to 5 pm which is a problem as we dont tend to book appointments past this time anyway! Please can you help with this? thanks
@Mike Emery: MIke sorry - this is putting into an event record on the client file and gmail calendar ( all a bit late clarification)
Yes please - or even just written in as a note through to api would be a good temp measure.
